Just a little bit lower

I went on my first group photo walk last weekend. Yes, my first. Ever. I think I’ve always avoided them because I’ve always considered photography a solitary thing.

However, I not only went on the 500px Global Photo Walk in Washington, DC this past weekend but I organized and led it. Yeah, that’s like learning to run before you walk but I tend to do that. Anyways, I was actually surprised how much fun I had interacting with the other participants.

I grabbed this picture during the walk at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. I saw this woman playing with her dog and went over and started taking pictures of them. She definitely was aware of what I was doing but never stopped playing with the dog. Here’s my question: Is it street photography? It definitely wasn’t a “candid” photo but it also wasn’t posed.
