Thomas Leuthard on street photography

When Swiss street photographer Thomas Leuthard is out taking photos, he says his mission is to capture people in their “normal life situation.” He’s looking for everyday folks who might have a story to tell — the kind of subjects you wouldn’t see on the cover of a magazine. It’s about observing, he says.

Leuthard distills his philosophy on street photography pretty succinctly in this 2-minute video by CosySpeed, a German company that specializes in accessories for mirrorless cameras.

You should have an interest in people and every day life and go out and try to capture that.
