An autumn canopy at the National Mall

I shot this picture of the Korean War Veterans Memorial on the National Mall from a couple hundred feet behind the memorial so that I could highlight the amazing foliage. That vantage point also allowed me to give it more of a “reflective” feeling by cutting out the dozens of people off camera to the left who were streaming through the memorial on Veterans Day.

This particular photo was also featured on the Washington Post’s Capital Weather Gang blog.

I think fall is the one season I haven’t seen Washington DC in – it’s beautiful!
